Sesame Street is the longest children’s television show still running today. It first aired on television in November 10, of 1969. It is well known for the Muppets characters, created by Jim Henson. Sesame Street has a positive influence on children and is one of the most highly regarded and educational television shows in television history. As of 2006 the show has received 109 Emmy Awards, more than any other television series.

The show uses puppets, live actors, and animations to stimulate children minds to improve their letter and word recognition, simple problem solving, eating habits, proper hygiene, learning how to walk across the street and much more. There are also books, videos, and card games, to help your little one learn. Many licensed products have been produced with characters and themes from the show. There are Sesame Street birthday party supplies, clothing, shoes, dinnerware, and dolls. Your child can dress up as his/her favorite Muppete character! How much fun could it be to host a Birthday Party, where all the children dressed as Sesame Street characters!

Recently, Sesame Street decided to create a new, sparkling, little girl character. Abby Cadabby is a 3 year-old little fairy-in-training, who is bright and funny. Abby is a very energetic,and fun. She is learning how to use her magical powers for good. Abby knows all about life as a fairy, but is constantly amazed by human things, like learning to draw letters or counting, frequently prompting her catch phrase: "That''s so magical!" She loves the color pink and has a pet mouse.

Elmo, Zoe and Rosita are some of Abby friends on Sesame Street. Along with Baby Bear, Abby attends school at the Storybook Community School, where Mrs. Goose is the teacher and other fairy tale characters like Hansel and Gretel are her classmates.  The 2008 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade introduced a 43 foot parade balloon with Abby's likeness.
