Those little fluffy marshmallow peeps in spring colors are the most recognized pieces of candy during the Easter holiday. Your Easter is not complete until those chick or bunny Peeps are snuggled into that green grass that lines your Easter basket. The infamous "chick" Peeps were born, or should I say mass-produced, in 1953. The "chick" was the first of the Peeps in production and to this day it is still my favorite!
How cute is this Easter costume of a Marshmallow Chick Peep? I can just see my niece or nephew wearing it this Easter! What an adorable picture it would make.
Today the manufacturer of Marshmallow Peeps, Just Born, produces more than one billion individual Peeps per year. Last Easter, more than 700 million Marshmallow Peeps and Bunnies were consumed by men, women and children throughout the United States. Not bad for a little piece of sugar, huh?
