Cat in the Hat Costumes 

The Cat In The Hat is an infamous children’s book written in the 1950’s by Dr. Seuss. The main character featured in the story is a tall and lanky cat. Dressed in an obnoxiously large red and white striped hat and a large red bowtie, the silly cat shows up on the doorstep of a house where two kids are home alone while their mother is out.

The Cat in the Hat seems determined to entertain and amuse the children and that he does. The household is thrown into nearly immediate turmoil and chaos due to the crazy tricks and other shenanigans that the Cat is trying to impress the children with. What once was a boring and rainy day becomes a fun-filled adventure with a new, slightly bizarre friend. Just in the nick of time, the giant mess that the Cat has made is cleaned up and his quick exit is made, just as the mother returns.

The Cat in the Hat is a delightful tale familiar to all children. Your child will love bringing this hilarious as well as wacky character to life for dress up play or the Cat will also make a perfect Halloween costume. Make sure the Cat In The Hat is back at your house, too!

Read Across America is a national day celebrating reading. The idea was first created in May 1997 as a way to get children excited about reading. It was then decided to celebrate it on Dr. Seuss’s Birthday. So on March 2nd, 1998 the largest celebration of reading began. By celebrating Dr. Seuss, the most beloved children’s author, sends a message to children that readings is important and fun. Read Across America is now celebrated annually on Dr. Seuss’s birthday, March 2nd. Read Across America is sponsored by the National Educations Association, the California Teachers Association along with many of the country’s leading literacy and youth groups to motivate children to read. The National Educations Association encourages cities and towns across the nation to host local events to celebrate and promote reading.
