Halloween Crafts
  
Halloween is a great chance for families to spend time together doing fun things. Especially if you can find some silly, easy craft projects. All the materials you need are either in your house or available at your local craft store. Halloween Express has made it extra easy by providing you with the list of materials and the instructions!
  
Floaty Ghost 
Materials
1 – White lid from a plastic container, like whipped topping
1 – Sheet of black construction paper to make three 2” across circles
2 - plastic grocery bags (white)
2 – white pipe cleaners
1 - Hole punch
6 – pieces of Scotch tape
3 – spots of glue
1 - piece of black yarn about 1’ to 1-1/2’ long
1. Glue the black circles onto the lid for the eyes and mouth of your ghost. Punch a hole at the top of the face.
2. Take your plastic bags and cut off the handles. Any writing should be cut out from the opening, leaving the bottom seam alone. Lay the sacks on a flat surface. Cut 2" strips leaving at least 1" at the bottom, by the seam.
3. One at a time, glue the pipe cleaner into the seam of your bag.
4. Place your ghost lid, face down on a flat surface. Take one of your shredded bags and bend and insert the pipe cleaner/seam into the ridge around the bottom 1/2 of the lid. Tape to secure in place. Do the same with the other bag, but put it along the top ½ of the lid.
5. Thread a length of yarn through the hole appropriate for hanging.
6. Hold the end of the yarn and RUN!!! Your floaty ghost will follow you around!!
Fuzzy Pumpkins 
Materials
1 – sheet of green sticky paper or labels
1 – sheet of black sticky paper or labels
1 – pair of scissors
1 – pencil
1 – black marker
1 – glue stick or bottle of glue
1 – Large, orange pom-pom
2 – self-adhesive googly eyes
1. Take your green paper and cut some stems for the top of your pumpkin. If you feel really artistic, make the stem along with a leaf – keep them small enough for the top of the pom-pom. Stick it to the top.
2. Take your black paper and cut out a silly mouth for your pumpkin. Stick the mouth in place.
3. Place your googly eyes on the pom-pom.
4. ENJOY your silly creation.

Balloon Spiders  
Materials
2 - round black balloons
1 – sheet black construction paper
1 – roll of clear tape
1 – spool of Black String or yarn
1 – sheet of large white sticky labels
1 – pair of scissors
1 – assortment of stickers
1 – piece of black yarn, at least 1’
1. Blow up both balloons. One should be larger for the body. Tie off with string, and attach two balloons together at tied ends.
2. Cut 8 strips of construction paper for legs. Fold in accordion style. Tape the legs to body of spider at sides.
3. Using labels, stickers, scissors and markers make eyes for your spider and affix to head. Decorate your spiders back with any stickers you choose.
4. You may tie a long piece of string at the body/head joint for hanging your spider or having him walk with you.
Napkin Ghosts 
Materials
1 - Paper napkin. You can use a cloth too or an old scrap of material
1 - Small styrofoam ball or another napkin crumpled into a ball
1 - Rubber band
1 – black marker
1 - String or yarn, at least 1’
1. Unfold your napkin on a flat surface.
2. Place the ball or crumpled paper in the middle of the napkin.
3. Wrap the middle of the flat napkin around the ball. Use the rubber band to hold it in place, leaving the ends hanging out.
4. Use markers to make a funny or scary face.
5. Take a long piece of string. Tie one end to the ghost's neck, the other end to you, a doorknob, or anywhere your parent’s help you reach.
Easy Halloween Decoration Ideas 
Halloween is not just for kids anymore. Making Halloween decorations can be fun for adults to make and display for the festive season. The decorations do not have to be complicated or expensive, but they will bring out your creativity for the Halloween season.
Halloween Wreath
- Grapevine Wreath
- Black satin bow
- Small Halloween decorations
- 24 gauge wire
- Hot glue gun
- Fall leaf garland
Attach garland to grapevine wreath with 24 gauge wire or hot glue. Arrange small Halloween decorations (spiders, bats, pumpkins) on leaf garland and attach with wire or hot glue. Tie black bow at the bottom of wreath. Twist a piece of 24 gauge wire to the top of the wreath to use as a hanger for the front door.
Footprint Ghost
- Scissors
- White craft foam
- Orange ribbon
- Wiggly eyes
- Black Marker
Trace and cut out your child’s foot on the foam board. Draw and cut out arms and hands and glue to the back of the ghost. Draw a scary or silly face on ghost and attach wiggly eyes. Take ribbon and tie a bow to the ghost’s neck. Connect multiple ghosts and string up as a garland.
Tin Can Lanterns
- Multiple tin cans
- Nail
- Hammer
Wash cans thoroughly and smooth out any sharp edges. Place nail on side of can and tap lightly with hammer. Continue until a pattern is made such as a pumpkin or a spider. Turn can right side up where opening is at the top. Place a tea light candles inside cans and place in several areas of the house for an illuminating decoration.
Halloween Fun for Teens 
Everyone loves having fun at Halloween, but teens especially enjoy making this holiday fun for their friends. Crafts are not just for kids and old ladies anymore. Teens can have fun making crafts for themselves or for someone special to celebrate the Halloween season. Being creative and being festive with the crafts can bring fun to any holiday, especially Halloween.
Icy Halloween Hands
Take several rubber gloves and fill with water. Tie the ends with a rubber band place in freezer until frozen solid. After they are frozen, cut the gloves away from the ice and add the hands to a blood red punch.
Personalized Halloween Socks
- Fabric paint
- Embroidery needle and floss
- Light colored socks
- Buttons and beads
On the cuff of the sock, lightly draw where the fabric paint and bead designs should be. Sew the beads and buttons onto the sock first. Second, embroider with colorful thread and shiny floss. Finally, be creative with fabric paint by including the buttons, beads and embroidery. Wait 24 hours for the paint to dry before wearing socks.
Apple Candle Holder
- Large apples
- Spoon
- Lemon juice
- Utility knife
- Tea candles
Cut out core of apple approximately halfway down the apple. Take spoon and scoop out the inside of the apple a little larger than the tea candle. Squeeze lemon juice onto the cut portions of the apple to prevent it from turning brown. When lemon juice has dried, insert tea candle and light.
Black Widow Chair Covers
Take 4 yards of black tulle fabric and rape over the back of the chair and let the remainder cascade to the floor. Tie an orange satin ribbon around the seat base of the chair and tie in a bow.
Scary Kid Crafts 
Kids have a great time during the Halloween season. Why not make even more fun for them by adding Halloween crafts to their list. The crafts do not have to be difficult and they can also help the kids with their dexterity and creativity. Provide plenty craft supplies for your children and watch the amusement happen. They will agree that making crafts with their friends is full of laughs and Halloween fun.
Take a Witch by the Hand
What you need:
Scissors
Glue
Markers or crayons
Green construction paper
Yellow construction paper
- Trace hands on green paper and cut out.
- Draw and cut out long fingernails on the yellow construction paper.
- Draw warts, veins, wrinkles on the witch’s hand.
- Sprinkle glitter on the fingernails and glue to each finger.
- Connect witch’s hands with glue and string up as a Halloween garland house decoration. Witch’s hands may also be glued together to form a scary door wreath.
Bat Finger Puppets
What you need:
Scissors
Black construction paper
Pen
2 self-adhesive googly eyes
White or silver crayon
Large black pom-pom
- Draw a bat template on a single piece of poster board.
- Cut out several bats out of black construction paper.
- Cut finger holes at the bottom of the bats for legs.
- Glue large pom-pom body in the center of the bat’s body.
- Glue the googly eyes to the pom-pom body.
- Stick index and middle fingers into the finger holes to make the bat’s legs.
The cut-out bats can also be glued together to make a Halloween garland or wreath.
