When it comes to dressing up for Halloween, men often want to pick a character that is the perfect combination of exciting, colorful, masculine and of course, fun. It’s no wonder then, that one of the most popular Halloween looks for you guys is that of the pirate. With recent well-known movies such as those found in the infamous Pirates of the Caribbean movie series, Pirates have reached an all time echelon of popularity! Pirate costumes come in a wide variety of styles--from the more sexy and elegant to the truly swarthy rogues that look like they’ve spent a lot of time on that pirate ship. No matter what your best pirate look desire may be, our pirate collection has just what you need to get you ready for a Halloween adventure perfect for the high seas!

After you have your costume all picked out, then it’s time to think about transforming your face into something that looks perfectly “pirate”. Getting the right pirate makeup look isn’t hard at all. With a few unique makeup items found right here on the Halloween Express website, you will easily be able to create a pirate look that will be sure to impress all your best mates.

Follow These Simple Steps to Create a Male Pirate Look

Step One:  Apply a basic foundation (Product #DD05) to your entire face with a damp sponge, blending well.

Step Two:  Using a damp sponge and Mehron’s Shadow Liner in Smoky Taupe (Product #DD139), apply shadow and contour to the face around the top of the head, sides of the face, under the lower lip and under the cheekbones. Add a little shading along the sides of the nose as well.

Step Three:  With a stippling brush and Mehron’s E.Y.E. Cream- Black (Product #DD107), deepen the shadows a bit with this color.   Then tap on some stubble in the beard area.

Step Four:  Using the red color from Mehron’s Tri-Color Pirate Palette (Product # DD445) add a scar with a narrow brush or a q-tip applicator.

Step Five:  Go over the scar with Mehron’s Coagulated Blood Gel (Product #DD533).  This will give the scar a “freshly cut” look that is very realistic!

Step Six:  Using Mehron’s Tooth FX-Nicotine (Product #DD222), paint the product on dry teeth until you have reached the desired effect; let dry.  Next apply the Tooth FX in Black (Product #DD220).  The two of these in combination will make your pirate’s teeth look completely rotten and disgusting!

Now it’s time to go carefully put on your best pirate gear.  Don’t forget your eye patch, weaponry and other pirate accessories to really complete your look.  Arggh!
