The "laces or ties" should be more durable. Our seven year-old grandson needed help with the lacing, but he loved the suit and the accessories.

I have twin boys, so I purchased this costume in both the black and red. The fit was great and the boys loved the extra details. I would suggest replacing the ribbon that's used to lace up the "armor" with cloth ribbon if it's being worn more than once.

Cons: Not exactly what I was expecting
I thought the outfit was great. The only problem that I have is that my son normally wears a 12 so I ordered a LG (12-14) and it barely fits him. It will do for this year that's it. I thought it would last a couple of years, but no. That disappoints me.

My 6 year old is super excited to be this NINJA !! He loves it!
The only downside is it takes a while to get all the laces on.
