It's time to eat! After a busy evening Trick-or-Treating the kids will have worked up an appetite. Here's some ideas for fun Halloween related recipes. With these treats, there’ll be lots of GOOD GOBLIN!! Just follow the links to learn more.
  
Caramel Popcorn Balls  
A traditional treat for Halloween.
Adult supervision is recommended.
Note: As in all recipes, results can vary depending on humidity, conditions, etc. Please try any recipe out before attempting in a group setting.
What You Need
Yield: About 15 balls
- 4 tablespoons Butter or margarine
- 1 cup Brown sugar
- 1/2 cup Light corn syrup
- 1/2 (15-ounce) can Sweetened condensed milk (2/3 cup)
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
- 5 quarts Popped corn (popcorn)
- Large bowl (to hold popcorn)
- Saucepan
- Spoon
- Candy thermometer
- Measuring spoons
How To Make It
- In saucepan, combine butter or margarine, brown sugar, and corn syrup.
- Stir well and bring to boiling over medium heat.
- Stir in sweetened condensed milk; simmer, stirring constantly, till mixture forms a soft ball (234 degrees to 238 degrees) when dropped into cold water. (Takes just a few minutes.)
- Stir in vanilla.
- Pour over popped corn and stir well till all kernels are coated.
- Butter hands lightly, shape popcorn into balls about 3 1/2 inches in diameter.
Candy Filled Pumpkin

Inside this little pumpkin lies a treasure trove of candy!
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup of assorted candies, such as candy corn and chocolate kisses
- Plastic sandwich bag
- 10-inch square of orange tissue paper (double layer)
- Two 10-inch pieces of raffia
- Green pipe cleaner
- Pencil
Directions
1. Put the candy in the plastic sandwich bag.
2. Place the bag in the center of the doubled tissue paper square. Pull the corners of the tissue together at the top and twist them into a stem.
3. To hold the tissue in place, wrap both pieces of raffia around the base of the stem and knot them.
4. To make the stem tendrils, wrap the ends of the pipe cleaner around a pencil. Twist the center of the curled pipe cleaner around the base of the stem.
Bug Juice 
Kids Love this Goulish Punch!
Ingredients
- 2 10-oz. pkgs. frozen strawberries, defrosted
- 1 6-oz. can lemonade concentrate, thawed
- 1 quart ginger ale
- 2 cups raisins
- 6 gummy worms
Directions
1. Mix the strawberries and lemonade concentrate in a blender until smooth and thick.
2. Gradually add ginger ale.
3. Transfer the beverage to a punch bowl. Stir in any remaining ginger ale and the raisins. Place the gummy worms on the rim of the bowl for a swampy effect. Makes 10 servings.
ROAST PUMPKIN SEEDS 
Ingredients
- 1 – batch of Pumpkin seeds (fresh from carving!)
- 1 - bottle of non-stick cooking spray
- Salt
1. Rinse pumpkin seeds under cold water to remove any leftover pumpkin, you just want to roast the seeds.
2. Spray your baking sheet with non-stick spray or use alumninum foil. Spread your pumpkin seeds in a thin layer on the baking sheet and coat them with more non-stick cooking spray.
3. Sprinkle your seeds with salt and bake at 325 degrees until toasted, about 25 minutes. Keep an eye on them, once they get a little “tan”, you may want to pull them out.
Let cool. Enjoy them watching a great scary movie!! If there are any left, store in an air-tight container.
CRISPY HALLOWEEN TREATS 
Ingredients
- 1 – stick of butter or margarine
- 1 – regular size bag of marshmallows
- 1 – bottle of orange food coloring
- can of non-stick cooking spray
- 1 – box of crispy rice cereal (you might not use all of it)
1. Heat a large pan to medium. Melt butter or margarine until liquid.
2. Immediately stir in 1/3 the bag of marshmallows. Keep adding them until they are melted. Once melted, turn off the heat!!
3. Quickly add food coloring until bright orange.
4. Start stirring in the cereal a little at a time. Only add enough so that they’re all sticky and coated with marshmallow – about ¾ of the box.
5. Spray down a 9-1/2” x 11” pan with non-stick cooking spray. Spread mix into the pan. Let cool. Then cut into squares and share!! Or enjoy them yourself!!!
FIZZY HALLOWEEN PUNCH 
Ingredients
- 2 -Liters of White Soda (7UP or Sprite)
- 1 - Pitcher of Orange Drink – like Kool-Aid or Tang
- 1 - Pint of Orange Sherbet
Pour soda into bowl. Just before serving, add the sherbet. As it melts, it turns the mixture into a cloudy orange, sweet treat!
HOT SPIDER! 
Ingredients
- 1 – Pack of Cinnamon Sticks
- 1 – Gallon of Apple Cider
1. Put enough apple cider into a pot to serve your group. Insert 2 or 3 cinnamon sticks into the pot.
2. Use low to medium heat to bring the cider to a simmer.
3. Use a ladel to serve in teacups or coffeemugs. Use additional cinnamon sticks for garnish!
CANDY APPLES 
Ingredients
- 6 – red apples
- Non-stick cooking spray
- 1 – set of 6 popsicle sticks
- 2 – tablespoons of milk
- 1 – package of individually wrapped caramels
1. Remove caramels from their wrappers. Wash apples and remove stems. Insert popsicle stick into the top of the apples.
2. Layout a cookie sheet sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
3. Place caramels and milk in a microwave safe bowl. Melt in microwave for 1 minute, then stir. Continue heating the caramel for 1 minute.
4. Coat the apples with the caramel and place them on the buttered sheet.
NOTE – if you dare….decorate the apples by sprinkling candies, nuts, or ice cream decors on them as they cool!!
Cool & Enjoy!!
CREEPY CUPCAKES 
Ingredients
- 1 – container Whipped topping
- 1 – box Cake Mix (whatever flavor you like)
- 1 – bottle Orange food coloring
- 1 – tube Black decorators icing
- Leftover Halloween Candy
1. Prepare white cake mix batter and bake a batch of cupcakes. Be sure to use Halloween cupcake liners if you can find them!
2. While cupcakes are baking, mix orange food coloring into whipped topping and let set in the fridge.
3. After cupcakes have cooled, frost them with the colored whipped topping.
4. Decorate the cupcake tops with decorator’s icing and with any leftover candy you have!
ENJOY!!
HALLOWEEN MEXICAN DINNER 
Before the trick or treaters come to the door to beg for treats, prepare a great dinner for family and friends to enjoy. Don’t send your ghosts and witches out on an empty stomach where they will fill up on candy and sugar, but be creative by hosting a Mexican themed dinner that will not only satisfy their goblin appetites but add some warmth to the cool Halloween evening. Lay out the dinner in buffet style so everyone can choose what they want and keep the line moving since they are on a trick or treating schedule. Add to the dinner by decorating the tables with small pumpkins, fall leaves, or bats and spiders. Include orange and black candles throughout the eating area to add extra atmosphere to the bewitching evening.
Chicken and Cheddar Enchiladas
1 tbs butter ½ cup chopped green onions
½ tsp garlic powder 1 can diced green chilies
1 can cream of mushroom soup ½ cup sour cream
1 ½ cup cubed chicken breast meat 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
12 inch flour tortillas ¼ cup milk
- Preheat oven to 35o degrees. Lightly grease large baking dish.
- Sauté green onions and butter, add garlic powder, green chiles, mushroom soup and sour cream. After mixing well, add chicken and cheddar cheese.
- Fill each tortilla with mixture, roll up and place in baking dish. Sprinkle shredded cheese over tortillas and bake for 30-35 minutes.
Mexican Skillet Rice
2 tablespoons oil 1 cup cooked rice
1 small onion 5 minced garlic cloves
½ cup water ½ teaspoon salt
1 cup broth 2 medium green pepper strips
1 cup corn 8 0z sour cream
1-2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- Heat oil in large frying pan.
- Add uncooked rice, onion, garlic, salt and ½ cup water
- Cook until water is absorbed.
- Add broth, corn and pepper strips.
- Cover and let simmer for 20 minutes.
- Remove from heat and spread sour cream over mixture.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese on top, cover for 5-10 minutes until cheese has melted.
HALLOWEEN DESERT RECIPES 
Make Halloween extra fun with festive desserts worthy of the most menacing monster. A treat for everyone after a night of going door to door will be welcomed by the little goblins and their chaperones. Provide something for each taste and age group; fun and scary for the kids, sweet and amazing for the adults. Serve with your favorite hot drink such as coffee, hot tea, cocoa and hot cider. Serving sweet treats with a Halloween theme will be a perfect ending for a perfect evening.
Brain Cell Delight
1 6oz small curd cottage cheese
1 pk blueberry jello mix
1 can blueberries in syrup
Prepare jello and chill until firm. Scoop cottage cheese into bowl and add blueberries. Mix well with blue jello and serve “brains” with blueberry syrup poured over the top.
Candy Corn Rice Krispy Treats
10 cups Rice Krispy cereal 9 cups miniature marshmallows
2 cups candy corn ¾ cup miniature chocolate chips
Candy pumpkins Yellow and red food coloring
½ cup butter
Melt marshmallows and butter in medium heat sauce pan. Mix candy corn, chocolate chips and cereal together. Add 2 drops of yellow and 1 drop of red food coloring to the marshmallow mix to make an orange color. Mix cereal mixture and marshmallows while marshmallows are still warm. Spread into buttered pan and press candy pumpkins 1 inch apart. Refrigerate and cut into squares.
Red Devil’s Food Cake
1 2/3 cup all purpose flour 1 cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar ½ cup shortening
1 ½ cup buttermilk 1 ½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt 1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs 2 oz. baking chocolate
Vanilla Frosting:
1/3 cups powder sugar 1/3 cup softened butter
1 ½ tsp vanilla 1-2 tbs milk
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix cake ingredients thoroughly and pour into greased 9 inch round cake pans. Mix powdered sugar, milk and vanilla until smooth and spread on cake when cooked and cooled.
EASY HALLOWEEN RECIPES FOR THE CLASSROOM
Plan a great Halloween party for your students by supplying fun and tasty treats for them to enjoy. There are many recipes that are simple and easy and yield enough treats to fill the tummy of every ghost and goblin in your classroom.
Candy Spiders
Ingredients:
- Red hot candies
- Black jumbo gumdrops
- Thin black licorice
Poke three holes on each side of gumdrop using a toothpick. Insert licorice strings into punched holes and cut to desired leg length. Press red hots into gumdrops for fiery eyes. Store candy spiders in an air-tight container to keep fresh until served.
Monster Munchies
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of corn puff cereal
- 2 cups salted mixed nuts
- ½ cup melted butter
- 1/8/ tsp. Tabasco sauce
- 2 cups bugle crisp crackers
- 2 cups goldfish crackers
- 1.2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 Tbsp. dried Italian seasoning
Mix crackers, cereal, and nuts and pour into 15x10” jelly roll pan. Pour melted butter on top of mixture and toss generously. Sprinkle seasonings and bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Cool mixture and before storing in air-tight container.
Spooky Cookies
Ingredients:
- Decorative icing gels
- Double Stuff Oreos (orange and white filling)
