Super Hero Costumes
Many superheroes work alone in their fight against crime. However, there are also many that work in teams such as the Fantastic Four, X-Men, Justice League and Avengers. This makes for some great ideas for "group" costumes if your friends want to save the day too!
Super Hero Halloween Costumes! A superhero is defined as, "a hero, possessing extraordinary, often magical powers; usually portrayed as fighting evil or crime." Since the debut of Superman in 1938, stories of superheroes have dominated American comic books. But what really makes a superhero? Is it the ability to leap tall buildings in a single bound, the strength and endurance of a hundred men, the shape shifting? Is it the compassion that drives them to put the well being of an entire city above their own? Or is it the mask and cape that billows out when he flies off to save the day. Although it's a bit of all of these qualities, the single most recognizable trait of a superhero is simply... the costume! Today, superheroes of every shape, size and color can be found on the big screen and on television sets around the world. The allure of superheroes for many is the simple age old conflict of good v/s evil; where good always prevails. The superhuman powers, good looks and cool gadgets are excellent side benefits. We connect with the story themes, with the dangers and struggles that superheroes face and we find ourselves routing and cheering on their heroic acts. What captivates us is the shroud of secrecy that surrounds a superhero. They have secret identities, secret powers and secret headquarters. This air of secrecy makes wearing a superhero costume even more fun because no one knows who is really under that mask. When donning a superhero costume, the wearer takes on the personal of the superhero; a larger than life hero.
