In the past, movies have always been the backbone of Halloween costumes and this year has been no different.  Blockbuster movie characters coming to life giving both children and adults reason to head for the Halloween stores.  G. I. Joe is the ultimate fighting action figure for every  boy in America.  My brothers had every imaginable G. I. Joe action figure when we were growing up and they would play with them for hours.   There was nothing that G. I. Joe couldn't handle.  Whether he was fighting the bad guys, jumping into enemy territory or manning the tanks there was no question who my brother would make the hero! Now G. I. Joe has finally came to life on the big screen!  The movie G. I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra hit theaters August 7th with rave reviews.  How could it not having soldiers with names like, Duke, Snake Eyes and Heavy Duty!  If you love a good live-action adventure film you'll love this!  As far as Halloween goes, G. I. Joe costumes of the characters in the movie are flying off the shelves!  Better get shopping if you're thinking about needing  a Duke or Snake Eyes costume for either a child or an adult.   My son, Caden already has his eye on one!  Don't forget all the great Halloween costume accessories that go along with the costumes too!

How many times have you heard the lyrics, "Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street?"  Wow does that bring back memories of sitting in front of the television and actually enjoying learning something, even something as simple as counting.  Who can forget Count Von Count and his "number of the day" segment where we would count along with him and his pipe organ. Did you know that Sesame Street premiered on November 10, 1969, and is the longest running children's show on American television.  Plus, it is one of the most watched educational shows for children in the world!  I loved watching Sesame Street as a child and my children didn't miss an episode when they were younger. Who can forget such great characters such as; Big Bird, Bert and Ernie, Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster and Elmo!  All of these muppets are just as popular today with children as they were decades ago. Children love Sesame Street and children love Halloween!  Why not combine the two and have your child dress as one of their favorite characters in Sesame Street costumes. has everything from children's costumes to teen costumes when it comes to Sesame Street.

Hippie Costumes for Halloween

This Halloween go back to a time of peace, love and tie die.  Back to a time where free thinking and psychedelic clothes were fashionable.   The Volkswagon Microbus was parked on every corner and the peace sign was universal.  Hippie costumes are  a fun way to go! The 1960's hippie movement influenced many around the world.  I loved the fashions that came out of that period.  You can still see it today with bell bottom jeans, colorful tunics and the long flowing skirts.  Wouldn't it be fun to bring out the hippie in you this Halloween?  You'll find everything you need to do just that at Halloween Express.
