Creating a Reindeer Costume and Makeup Look

Everyone knows that Santa Claus relies on a very special herd of flying reindeer in order to make his annual sojourn on Christmas Eve. What you might not know, however, is how easy it is to become a reindeer yourself, just in time for one of your holiday events! By following our easy, step-by-step instructions and with a few makeup products found on our website, you can easily transform yourself into this whimsical reindeer character. Wearing this costume look is certain to delight your friends and family during the holiday season!

Follow These Steps to Create this Look

Step One:  Begin any makeup application with a clean and dry face. Using a sponge applicator apply white foundation (#DD05) around the eye socket area and blend in well. Next, apply this same white color to the center area of the forehead and down the bridge of the nose.

Step Two:  Next using a clean sponge applicator and the makeup foundation in the Dark Egyptian (#DD05) color, apply this darker color around the areas that you have painted white. The brown color should go on the cheeks, the sides of the nose, the upper areas of the head (hairline), etc. Blend the color so that the brown areas are uniformly brown and there are no areas of skin showing between the brown parts and the white areas that you have painted.

Step Three:  With Dark Brown or Black eyeliner pencil (#DEO2), fill in the eyebrows with a fairly strong brow line.

Step Four:  Line the upper and lower lash line with a black eye liner pencil. (#DE02) Extend the line out toward the side of the eye for a more dramatic look, if desired.

Step Five:  Apply false eyelashes with eyelash glue. (#EA81) Using false eyelashes is optional, but they will make your eyes look very large, which is perfect for a reindeer look!

Step Six:  Next, using a black foundation (or red if you would prefer to create "Rudolph"), carefully paint on a reindeer-shaped nose on the tip of your nose. Be careful not to smudge!

Step Seven:  Next, it is very important to "press" some setting powder into all the foundation areas of the makeup. Using a "pressing" motion will press powder into the makeup without smudging. Don't worry if you have a lot of excess powder on the face--this can be easily brushed away with a fluffy brush when you are finished setting the makeup with the powder. We have used Colorset Powder (#DD321) to set our reindeer makeup.

Step Eight:  Using Detailz Liner Pen by Mehron in White (#DD510), paint some spots onto the cheeks of the reindeer. Let Dry.

Now it's time to get dressed up in an appropriate costume that will create the look of a reindeer. We have used the charming and furry Eskimo Costume (#RL455) to create our reindeer's festive look. This costume comes with a zip up dress with a hood, boot covers, gloves and even a pretend snack for the long sleigh journey. Our model is wearing the white Go-go boots (#HA4) underneath the boot covers that come with the costume. These white boots are sold separately. To complete our adorable reindeer look, we have crowned our model with a pair of Reindeer Antlers! (#BC04)

Whether you are in a holiday parade or pageant or just attending a local Christmas party--dressing up as holiday character makes your event extra festive and fun. Not only will you have a great time getting into your holiday look, but also everyone around you will appreciate your Christmas spirit. Just watch the smiles happen everywhere you go! Wearing this costume look is sure to make YOU the most famous reindeer of all!
